Currently, Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport has a limited traffic capacity. The apron can accommodate up to 9 aircraft and the terminal is equipped to handle up to 300 000 passengers annually. The main purpose of St. Paul the Apostle Airport is to serve as an alternative to Alexander the Great Airport at Skopje and cater to flights bringing in tourists destined for Ohrid.
With the concession agreement signed by TAV Airports Holding, the renovation works for the Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport has begun, as of March 2010. The works involves the construction of New VIP facility, New Administration Building, New Aircraft Hangar and installation of the New Baggage Handling System. A new car park of 11.000 m² and an apron of 36.000 m² are within the scope of renovation works.
Planned to be finalized within 12 months, the renovation works will improve the quality of service provided by the facilities remarkably.
